Mandaza carries the honorary title of Peacemaker. He will talk of what that means, how that is rooted in African tradition (many people these days have heard about the principle of Ubuntu which is a Peacemaking principle) and how this can be applied in our lives. Through dreams and visions Peacemakers reconnect with compassion, love, truth and freedom and justice. A spirit may come in many forms, in the form of a buffalo, tree, rock or an ancient ancestor. A healer will be guided in a dream by a spirit to select and find medicine and how to prepare it to heal.

We belong to both Spirit world and Human world. Peacemakers set out to heal the colonization wounds of the world. Not just have countries been colonized, but so have earth resources like water, too. Mother Earth knows no borders. Indigenous cultures of the world need to be revisited and reunite in the Spirit of Oneness. Traditional Healers are the custodians of this knowledge. Mandaza believes that Jesus, Buddha, and Martin Luther King were all messengers of the message of healing peace.

Mandaza Kandemwa joins Ancient Origins Premium for a fascinating In-Depth Interview on the ancient tradition of peacemaking.

Mandaza Kandemwa is a spirit-medium and medicine-man from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He was born a svikiro – a carrier of many earth and water spirits. He is a mhondoro, a Lion Shaman, one who is constantly in prayer on behalf of others. He was initiated through the tradition of the njuzu, the Water Spirits.

As a vessel of the Spirits, Mandaza receives visions and dreams, makes offerings, performs healing rituals, and serves as a messenger for the Ancient Ones. He carries with him in his heart the African spiritual tradition of healing and peacemaking. He is known internationally for his loving presence and for his preservation of the old ways. Like the Water Spirits he carries, Mandaza flows between the worlds, moving easily between the worlds of religion and the secular, the traditional and the modern, the industrial and the earth ways, all that is sacred and profane. Mandaza works from home and travels internationally, offering teachings and healing counsel to groups and individuals of all backgrounds and cultures. He teaches to become "living prayers" in service of the One Spirit that exists in all things.
